Business Simulation Game for Professionals (16th and 17th Jan. 2024)

On January 16th and 17th, 2024, Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM), in collaboration with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) and All India Management Association (AIMA), successfully hosted the "CHANAKYA-2024: Business Simulation Game." This computer-based simulation provided ten teams from diverse corporate and academic backgrounds with an immersive experience in making crucial business decisions within a virtual environment.

  • Day 1



    Day one of CHANAKYA-2024 commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony. Following the traditional lamp lighting and invocation to Saraswati, Dr. TR Pandey, Director of AKGIM, extended a warm welcome to the ten participating teams representing diverse corporate and academic backgrounds. The day further unfolded with the Chief Guest of the day Dr. RK Agarwal, Director General of AKGEC. He shared his insightful views on the benefits of this immersive learning experience. Mr. Rahul Agarwal, Executive Director of GMA, delivered the opening keynote, emphasizing the importance of simulation games in honing business acumen. Sh. S.K Tyagi, Game moderator explained the rules of the game in detail and with examples. This stimulating inauguration set the stage for an exciting journey into the competitive realm of simulated business decisions.



    Day 2




    The second day of CHANAKYA-2024 saw intense action as teams steered the final stages of the simulation. Each faced realistic challenges and the direct consequences of their strategic, financial, and marketing decisions, fully immersed in the simulated business environment. The pressure culminated in a captivating valedictory session graced by Mr. SK Tiwari, President of GMA, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Mr. Tiwari commended the teams on their efforts and announced the much-anticipated results. One of the two teams of NTPC Ltd. emerged victorious, claiming the top position, while the team from AKGIM earned a strong second place. The event concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing valuable takeaways and newfound insights gained through their competitive engagement in the simulated business world. CHANAKYA-2024 proved to be a successful event, promoting strategic thinking and decision-making skills among participants.

CHANAKYA-2022-23

Business Simulation Game for Professionals (13th and 14th March 2023)

On March 13th and 14th, 2023, Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) and Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) hosted the "CHANAKYA: Business Simulation Game.” Shri S.K. Tyagi, a representative from the AIMA's Games division, facilitated and oversaw the game. The "CHANAKYA" business simulation game was developed by AIMA. It is a computer-based business simulation game that aims to actively involve players in various types of business decisions. Participants in the game experience the effects of marketing, financial, and strategic decisions in a virtual setting while interacting with a fictitious company that has a variety of structured and random constraints. The AIMA Chanakya game has been organized by AKGIM since a long time. Seven teams from the corporate and academic worlds took part in this game in 2023. Each participating team is made up of four members from the parent company. Participating teams were:

The team from NTPC Ltd. was winner and team from AKGIMwas the runner up. Sh. Gulshan Thapar, Treasurer GMA and Sh. Rahul Agarwal, Industry Consultant were present as Chief Guest and theyannounced the results of winner and runner up positions. Participants cherished the experience they obtained during the entire event.

“CHANAKYA-2021 Business Simulation Game for Professionals (21st & 22nd January 2021)”

Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) in association with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) organized Business Simulation Game called "CHANAKYA" on 21st & 22nd January, 2021.The game was facilitated and moderated by Shri Vijay Singh and Mr. D K Gupta who were the representative from Games division of AIMA. AIMA has created business simulation game called ‘CHANAKYA’. It is a computer-based business simulation game that aims to actively engage participants in various kinds of business decisions. During the game participants experience the impact of marketing, financial and strategic decisions under virtual environment where they are involved with a hypothetical company having various structured and random constraints.

AKGIM has been organizing AIMA’s Chanakya game for last many years but in 2021, this game has been conducted in online mode due to pandemic. In 2021, eight teams from corporate and academia participated in this game. Each participated team comprises of four participants from their parent organization. Participating teams were:

The team from NTPC Ltd. was winner and the other team from NTPC was the runner up. Shri. Rakesh Chharia, President GMA was present as Chief Guest and he announced the results of winner and runner up positions. Shri Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA were also present on this occasion. Participants cherished the experience they obtained during the entire event.

“Management Simulation Business Game: CHANAKYA 2020”

Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) along with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) organized “Management Simulation Business Game: CHANAKYA” on 7th&8thFeb.,2020at AKGIM campus. This game was conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA).The game was steered by Mr.Vijay Singh and MrDK Gupta from the games division of AIMA.

Business Game ‘Chanakya’is a simulation game where teams of four persons each are made to represent the decision makers of a company. They are required to take the most profitable decision for their company under circumstances and vagaries created to simulate the actual business scenarios that can prevail. In this event,participation was in form of8 teams from management cadre of Industries and Management Institutes.The teams were from the following organizations:

The team fromNTPCwas declared winner and the team fromAKGIM was the runners up. Dr. Tripurari Pandey, Director AKGIM and Shri Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA, gave away the winner and runner up trophies to the participants where Shri SK Tiwari, Plant Head, Godfrey Philip was present as Chief Guest. This event was widely appreciated and enjoyed by all the participants. They assured that on commercial front and as a team, their vision has broadened and they have learnt a great deal in the game.

“CHANAKYA-2019 Business Simulation Game for Professionals ” (11th & 12th February 2019)

Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) in association with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) organized Business Simulation Game called "CHANAKYA" on 11th & 12th February 2019. The game was facilitated and moderated by Mr. Vijay Singh and Mr. D K Gupta as the representative from Games division of All India Management Association (AIMA).

Chanakya is a computer-based simulated game that test business intelligence of participants by placing them in various decision making situations. It demonstrates how and why cross-functional aspect of business is important and has impact on managerial business decisions. The simulation game ‘Chanakya’ offers similar business opportunities to each of the participating team and it also provides competitive information and various other government announcements related to business during different stages of the game. This all created decision making situation and each participating team work out to maximize their profits under the given conditions.


AKGIM has been organizing AIMA’s Chanakya game time and again for last many years. Currently in 2019, total eight teams participated in this game. Each participated team composed of four participants from their parent organization. Teams from following companies and institutes participated:

The team from NTPC Ltd. was winner and the team from AKGIM was the runner up. In the valedictory session the Chief Guest Mr. S. M. Mittal, Managing Director, Sukriti Vidyut Udyog Pvt. Ltd. shared his thoughts on importance of ethics and values in business decision with the participants. Dr. Tripurari Pandey, Director AKGIM, Shri Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA and Mr. S.M Mittal awarded trophies to the winner and runner-up team. All participants valued the understanding and experience they obtained through the exposure of simulation game. Participants also appreciate the facilitation carried by AKGIM.
